I am a documentary-style, natural light photographer. I believe in capturing you as you are. My favourite sessions are those where couples and families are unafraid to move, laugh, play and be themselves, interacting as you would if I wasn’t there—in fact, I’d rather you act like I wasn’t.
During your session, I will shoot a variety of close-up and wider shots. The way I shoot and create images will depend on the natural light and weather conditions of the day.

If you are being photographed with other people, try to co-ordinate outfits with other group members. This ensures a cohesive look & feel that always helps everyone look their best—but ultimately, it’s about what helps you feel confident in yourself in front of the camera.
For mini sessions, one outfit will suffice. For sessions upwards of 1 hour, 2-3 outfits will help provide variety to your images.
Tips on what to wear:
Avoid clashing patterns & colours, and tops with graphics on them.
Avoid branded hats, tees, sweaters and so on.
Avoid old sneakers, trackpants/sweatpants, and hoodies.
Neutrals and/or harmonious colours will be easier to work with than bright or bold colours.

It’s okay to feel nervous! Unless you are a professional model or you have had experience being photographed in the past, almost everyone feels awkward in front of the camera. I’ll do my best to guide you and help you to feel comfortable throughout the process.
My advice? Try not to get caught up in feeling nervous that you’re feeling nervous. Focus on the direction I’m giving you, lean into how you want to feel and embody that. Sometimes closing your eyes and taking a few breaths helps. Come to the shoot with a clear idea of what you are hoping to get out of it—you could even bring 2-3 inspiration images, phrases or whatever may help you to embody the person you want to show up in front of the camera.

Life happens—bookings can be rescheduled to a later date. If a booking cancellation is required on the day of the shoot, your deposit and/or session cost will be stored as credit towards a future session booking. Bookings that are cancelled at least 72 hours prior to the shoot will receive a refund. See my FAQ about my cancellation policy below.
Weather in the Rockies can be unpredictable especially during shoulder season (April-June, and September-November)—if the forecast shows extreme weather warnings due to hail, extreme snowfall, extreme rain, electrical storms and so on, I will reach out to reschedule your session.

If you need to cancel your session, I ask for at least 7 days’ notice for a complete refund.
Sessions cancelled within less than 72 hours will receive a refund on their deposit, minus 50% (i.e., if your deposit was $300, you would receive $150 back).
As a small business owner, I rely on photoshoots as my source of income, and last-minute cancellations often mean that I will be unable to fill your session time with another client who could have booked with me instead. -
Depending on the length of your session and my work load, it may take anywhere between 2-4 weeks for you to receive your images. I will get in touch if I anticipate any delays.
Larger shoots such as weddings, elopements, and so on may take 10-12 weeks to deliver. -
I do not perform excessive or unrealistic retouching on my clients’ imagery. I perform edits such as colour correction, distortion correction and other technical edits to make the images the best they can be. Some blemishes, stray hairs, lint and other minor imperfections will be removed, as well as urban obstructions (e.g., power lines, telephone poles, etc.) where necessary. I do not and will not make any changes to face & body shape or structure.

Editing is just as much a part of my art as the photography itself. These edits ensure you are getting the best images possible, and is a non-negotiable part of working with me as your photographer.
All my rates are inclusive of the time it takes to edit & process your images.
